Building on a Growing Festival Tradition
What began as a simple tasting idea has steadily grown into something much bigger. From our first taster event in August 2024 to the Chinese New Year celebration in February 2025, each event has helped shape what the Taster Festival is today.
Most recently, the First Ever Taster Festival in September 2025 marked a major milestone. Thanks to your feedback and support, we learned exactly what makes these events special.
As a result, the Chinese New Year Taster Festival brings everything together.
Returning favourites, exciting new vendors and even more variety for you to explore.
What to Expect on the Day
Free Food Tasting All Day
Throughout the day, enjoy free tastings from a wide range of Asian snacks, street food and drinks. From savoury bites to sweet treats, every stall offers something different. Because of this, there is always something new to discover.
Lion Dance Performance (Crab Cheng)
Celebrate Chinese New Year with a Crab Cheng Lion Dance performance starting at 12:00 pm. This advanced style of Lion Dance showcases strength, agility and precision, symbolising good fortune, prosperity and positive energy for the year ahead.
A lively highlight of the festival, the performance is perfect for families and a great opportunity to experience traditional Chinese culture up close. Make sure to arrive early and secure a good spot before the drums begin.
Returning Favourites and New Faces
Alongside returning vendors you already know and love, we are welcoming new suppliers joining the festival for the first time. This balance means you can revisit favourites while also discovering something completely new.
In Store Promotions
Meanwhile, our main Oriental Shop will remain open as usual. In addition, special in store promotions will run on the day, including discounts on selected products featured at the festival. If you find something you love, you can take it home for less.
A Family Friendly Day Out
Above all, the Taster Festival is designed to be enjoyed together. Families, friends and food lovers of all ages are welcome. The relaxed atmosphere makes it easy to explore, taste and celebrate at your own pace.
A Festival Rooted in Community
Beyond the food, the Chinese New Year Taster Festival is about connection. It brings people together through shared flavours, stories and experiences.
By attending, you are supporting passionate suppliers, many of whom are small businesses. At the same time, you help keep traditional recipes alive while encouraging new food discoveries.
Because of your continued support, these events continue to grow, and we are proud to share that journey with you.
